Why the name Reason?
As you scan through this website you may wonder why we have opted to choose the name “Reason” for our company. The answer was relatively simple to the owners and management of our recently founded company. Our principals were not looking for an eyecatching name for a short lived investment company. Probably the easiest way to explain the name is to show you below how the dictionary defines this simple, yet sometimes complex, six letter word.
rea·son n.
If you carefully examine the seven definitions described above, you will see how each one helps Reason in the evaluation process. Based on these simple definitions you can see it aids us in unlocking the idiosyncrasies of every potential transaction.
Marc Schuster and Jeff Gugick, the driving forces behind the swift success of Reason have often used the following quotes when asked what has brought the company to the forefront in this competitive market in such a remarkably short period of time. The two quotes they most often use are simple, direct and to the point:1) “Our passions are the winds that propel our vessel. Our Reason is the pilot that steers her. Without winds the vessel would not move and without a pilot she would be lost.” – Proverb quote
2) “All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with Reason. There is nothing higher than Reason.” - Immanuel Kant (German Philosopher one of the foremost thinkers of the Enlightenment. 1724-1804)
Simple quotes, but they speak volumes about the principles and tenets on which the company was founded.
